World Oceans Day was last week on June 8.
This month, we celebrate the vital importance and incredible beauty of our oceans. Here in French Polynesia, we're blessed with stunning marine environments, and at the heart of this underwater paradise lies a true treasure: Coral Gardeners.

Coral Gardeners are more than just a local gem; they are a pillar of hope for the global community, pioneering efforts to identify and plant resilient coral to restore our precious reefs. Their work is crucial: without healthy coral, we don't have healthy oceans. Once coral is bleached, it can become starved and die.
We're witnessing some devastating bleaching this year. The last few dives and snorkels I've been on are beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. I recently saw an anemone completely white/bleached. I'd never seen this before. Then I saw another, and another. Still, each time I see some white coral, I'm reminded of the blessing that is Coral Gardeners and it gives me hope.
We are fortunate enough to live close to one of the Coral Garden nurseries. We enjoy visiting to see the healthy and vibrant garden (by kayak or snorkel) where they are growing resilient coral to eventually be planted in Moorea’s reefs.
Please join me in supporting their incredible mission! WE CAN make a difference - and YOU can help by adopting a coral or making a donation. Your donation helps to protect and preserve the underwater wonders that make our world so extraordinary. Adopt a coral today and be a part of the change - go to their website.
Remember: to protect our ocean is to protect our blue planet. To protect our ocean is to protect life itself. Thank you for caring about our oceans!
